Yes, we recommend renting a car. Rum Point is located on the more remote side of the island where cabs do not hang out. It will be difficult to get around without a car. The Grand Cayman airport has the major car rental companies.
What are lodging options? Where should we stay?
We recommend staying in the Rum Point or Cayman Kai neighborhoods. There are options available on VRBO, Airbnb, or grandcaymanvillas.com. If you are planning on staying over on 7 mile beach please know it is about an hour commute to the wedding events over in Rum Point. If you are planning on staying on 7 mile beach please let Kailee know in order to discuss transportation.
Where should we stop for provisions?
We recommend stopping at the Countryside Shopping Village and going to Fosters for your groceries and Jacques Scott for your adult beverages. This is the best fully stocked grocery store on your way over to Rum Point. It is about 35 minutes to Rum Point from here.
There is a Fosters Express Market and another Jacques Scott about 20 minutes from Rum Point (not on way from airport) if you need something once you're in Rum Point. This is more of a convenience market and will not be a fully stocked grocery.
